How to set yourself up for a lovely day of painting…
…can feel like a daunting prospect. Where should I put my light, should I use a drawing board, or paint flat? These are all questions you ask yourself, especially if you are new to botanical painting.
It can be very easy to become bogged down with overthinking, and before you know it, you have bought too much that you don’t have the room for, and you get disheartened. That’s when the danger of not even starting to paint can kick in, and the whole lot gets pushed to the back of the cupboard.
To get you started, I’ve put together a video to help you think about where and how you are going to get going with your painting. I give you tips on what to use, and what you don’t need to get started. You don’t need a big space either. I started with a very small shared desk at home, with everything being portable and be able to be put away easily.
In this free ToolBox video I take you through some of the pieces of kit I still use now, and show you how to set up comfortably, even if you only have the smallest of spaces.
