‘The Memory of Place’ (2025)

This piece forms part of a final goodbye to my childhood home. A place of growth, joy, transformation and family.

I'm embarking on a personal exploration of the memory and spirit of place, and the passing of time in the emotional transformation of a home. My experience, stories and very personal history of my childhood home will become the focus of a new body of work.

This small but significant piece embodies childhood memories and the meaning of place. It's a bittersweet moment, but one I'm happy to capture.

The study takes one last rose hip from my parents garden before they move. Facing one last autumn visiting my childhood home, I chose a hip from one of the oldest roses in the garden. It's been growing in the same place since I was small, but now it's time to bid it, the garden and the house, a fond farewell.
