‘Solitude’ is a painting formed from a sense of isolation. The view of the rose from the reverse increases this feeling, with the beauty of the flower being intentionally hidden to invite a conversation.
Painted during the era of Covid, when restrictions enforced Jarnie to spend many months alone, her paintings took on new meaning. Her sense of self and purpose led to a deeper understanding of her process.
