What’s Coming in ‘A Botanical Summer’?
Some years ago I had my own online tutorials school. The school was dedicated to monthly botanical painting projects all filmed in real time, along with loads of extra support materials and technique videos. I had an enormous amount of fun doing it, but as the school grew, I got further away from the personal goals I wanted to achieve for myself. After nearly 10 years, and the pressure of Covid I decided to bring the Jarnie Godwin Art School to a close.
Then came a most intriguing invitation from Artefacto. They wanted to bring the videos back, exactly how they had been delivered on my own platform. Miroslava loved the ‘real time’ element that included as it happens troubleshooting and honest presentation with minimal editing. She wanted her team at Artefacto to stay as true to the original tutorials as possible with only minimal additional editing.
This is exactly how I wanted my tutorials to be. Over the years I have been approached several times by other platforms interested in the tutorials, but they had always wanted artistic license to edit and cut the tutorials. Artefacto have brought the right fit along with a great deal of effort and pre launch preparation to bring a brand new feel to the archives.
